Bengaluru played host to the 9th Nutra India Summit which was inaugurated yesterday. The three-day event, with the theme, ‘New Sutra for Nutra for emerging global economics’ is India’s flagship event for the nutrition, nutraceuticals, functional foods and dietary supplements industry.
The event featured ‘Morning Mantra’ where in a keynote session was chaired by Dr G Thyagarajan, FRSC, Former Director, CSIR Laboratories and Former Scientific Secretary, COSTED.
The other keynote speakers were, Dr V Prakash, FRSC, Distinguished Scientist of CSIR – India, Vice President, International Union of Nutritional Science (IUNS), Director of R&D and Innovation at JSS MVP, Mysore and Chairman, 9th Nutra India Summit and Dr.B. Suresh, Vice Chancellor, JSS University, Mysore and President, Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.
The second day of the summit saw a featured a session on R&D Innovation In Ingredients chaired by Dr VG Dhanakumar, Director, Indian Institute of Plantation Management (IIPM), Bangalore, Dr Deepak Dave, Medical Director, Kasturba Health Society & Medical Research Centre, Consulting Gynaecologist and Head of Dept Ob Gyn BSES MG Hospital. The speakers who took part in the summit were Dan Souza, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing, Naturex- DBS, US, Dr Jatinder Rana, Senior Principal Research Scientist, Analytical Sciences, Amway R&D, USA, Dr David Cai, Senior Regional Manager, Scientific Marketing, Regulatory and External Affairs BASF (Asia), Human Nutrition (ENH), Nutrition and Health,China and Dr Jagadish Mittur, Head, Biotech Facilitation Centre, KBITS.
