Alembic Pharma gets final nod form US FDA for Metolazone Tablets
Metolazone Tablets are indicated for the treatment of salt and water retention and hypertension
Alembic Pharmaceuticals has received approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) Metolazone Tablets USP 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg. The approved ANDA is therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug product (RLD), Zaroxolyn Tablets 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg, of Lannett Company.
Metolazone Tablets are indicated for the treatment of salt and water retention including:
a) oedema accompanying congestive heart failure;
b) oedema accompanying renal diseases, including the nephrotic syndrome and states of diminished renal function.
Metolazone Tablets are also indicated for the treatment of hypertension, alone or in combination with other antihypertensive drugs of a different class.
