Over 8.22 crore balance and unutilised vaccine doses still available with states and UTs

The central government has provided over 97 crore (97,00,24,165) COVID vaccine doses to states and Union Territories (UTs) so far through the free-of-cost channel and through the direct state procurement category.

Apart from it, over 8.22 crore (8,22,69,545) balance and unutilised COVID vaccine doses are still available with the states and UTs to be administered.

As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Government of India has been supporting the states and UTs by providing them COVID vaccines free of cost. In the new phase of the universalisation of the COVID-19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75 per cent of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to states and UTs.
