The policy on representation of women at the board level generally depends on the philosophy of each company. However, in today’s era when women in metro cities are getting equal opportunities, personally I don’t think there should be such a policy.
Representation on board should be on the merit of the individual. In the situation of a tie, the individual’s value system, soft skills, passion, commitment and other relevant parameters can be looked at.
