Jan Swasthya Abhiyan protests ‘corporatisation of healthcare’

Jan Swasthya Abhiyan (People’s Health Movement) is organising a rally demanding for Universalisation of Healthcare for All and protesting against corporatisation of healthcare.

The rally will start from Barakhamba Road at 11 am and march towards Jantar Mantar. It will end with a public meeting at Jantar Mantar at 12 noon.

The protest follows a two- day convention held in New Delhi on November  28-29 as a step to build a broad alliance to build a civil society movement for the provision of health care services – including provision of all essential medicines — for the people of the country.

The convention and this rally brought together nearly 300 delegates from different parts of the country, representing organisations and movements working in the health sector, trade unions, women’s organisations, the Right to Food Movement, the Access to Medicines Movement, PLHIV Networks and other NGOs.
