MediaMedic Communications is organising DigiSights India 2013, a digital marketing conference for pharmaceutical and healthcare marketers in Mumbai on November 15, 2013. The first of its kind in India, DigiSights India 2013 will host some well known national and international speakers who have worked on digital projects in healthcare and have a know-how of the same. A plethora of topics including the changing habits and attitudes of HCPs, rise of the ePatient etc will be covered. Apart from a couple of panel discussions, the other subjects will be rise of social media and its impact, mobile based health solutions, usage of digital for category building, measurement of ROI, newer trends in multichannel marketing and the changes that an organization needs to draw internally to adapt to digital.
Announcing the programme, Dinesh Chindarkar, Co-founder MediaMedic Communications said, “While working in the communication space, we realised the amazing opportunities and possibilities that digital throws up to the pharma marketer. Correct understanding of the medium is critical alongwith understanding of the regulations and responsible communication.”
Speaking on this occasion, Priti Mohile, Co-founder, MediaMedic Communications said, “An internal buy-in within multiple stakeholders within the company is critical to take the first step. Our experience says that there are differences of opinion within marketers which often is a challenge to overcome. It is critical to fuse the marketing experience of the seniors and the modern outlook and approach of the younger marketers to explore this medium. At the end of the day, digital is not a magic solution but a newer channel, which if explored properly can be of immense value.”
The conference will project thoughts from Indian marketers including some case-studies. Global learnings will be brought in by well-known international speakers including Andrew Spong and Dr Bertalan Mesko. Andrew Spong is a trusted industry thought leader from UK and has worked with pharma industry, patient associations, and agencies on digital health solutions. He is also the co-founder of both influential European Twitter-based community Healthcare Social Media Europe and the digital pharma thought leadership podcast Digitally Sick.
Dr Bertalan Mesko is the managing director of Webicina.com, the first service that curates medical and health-related social media resources for medical professionals. He is also the author of the ‘Social Media in Clinical Practice’ handbook.
