Multisorb to exhibit QbD Program at AACC Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo

Multisorb Technologies will exhibit QbD Program at the 2013 AACC Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo to be held in Houston Texas from July 30 to August 1, 2013. The 2013 Clinical Lab Expo is the world’s largest gathering for laboratory medicine, attracting more than 20,000 laboratory scientists from a broad range of specialties. The Clinical Lab Expo allows participants to connect with the global leaders in lab management and with buyers of in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) products. Multisorb will be promoting its Quality by Design (QbD) based Calculations through Operations Programme.

While in close consultation with its global clients, Multisorb’s scientists use its calculations through Operations Programme to determine the optimised sorbent for the application as well as managing placement of that sorbent during packaging operations, when required, with the use of a sorbent specific dispenser. The calculations through Operations Programme and use of a Multisorb System (sorbent with its corresponding dispenser) provide the most effective solution for ensuring chemical and physical stability for IVD devices through their desired shelf life.

Combining innovative technology and extensive knowledge, Multisorb can provide the most effective sorbent solution and help IVD product manufacturers get new chemistries to market more quickly. For complex stability requirements, optimised sorbent solutions are available with IntelliSorb formulations. IntelliSorb sorbent formulations offer steady-state or multi-functional control of moisture, oxygen, and volatilised organic compounds, playing the role of environmental manager within the device packaging. IntelliSorb formulations are available in many formats including Drop-In (packets and canisters), Fit-In (compressed solid forms that fit securely into an existing space in the device), and Built-In (thermoformed device components with sorbent incorporated into the material, called PolySorb Components).

Multisorb will be featuring two sorbent dispensers at this year’s show – APA-500 and APA-1000, which are a few of the options available as the dispenser component of the StripPax System and StabilOx System.

The semi-automated APA-500 is popular among IVD device manufacturers. The semi-automatic APA-500 StripPax/StabilOx Packet Dispenser is ideal for manual kit building, particularly for drug coated medical devices or complex diagnostic kits with multiple components. It is extremely valuable in operations where fully automatic dispensing units may not be practical, such as with hand packing operations, laboratory operations, and scale-up operations.

For fully automated dispensing, the APA-1000 StripPax/StabilOx Packet Dispenser is the desired choice. The APA-1000 can dispense up to 145 packets per minute and is easily interfaced to a variety of packaging lines, including direct drop interfaces, bottling, thermoforming, VFFS, HFFS, and flow wrapping machinery. Multisorb has the solution to help you maintain IVD product integrity, improve product stability, and extend product shelf life.
