Nadir Godrej felicitated with the Chemexcil Lifetime Achievement Award |
Nadir Godrej, Managing Director, Godrej Industries has been awarded with the Life Time Achievement award for his contribution to the Indian chemical industry. The award function was hosted by Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals & Cosmetics Export Promotion Council popularly known as CHEMEXCIL. Anand Sharma, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India conferred the awards to outstanding exporters who have excelled in their export performance during the financial year 2009-10 and 2010-11.
Godrej said, “This honour, while giving us the necessary impetus to achieve greater heights, demonstrates the confidence of our consumers and shareholders. It further strengthens our resolve to continue contributing to the industry. We are constantly in pursuit of new technologies and ideas based on market and vendor feedback to make us future ready.
He further added the global turmoil in 2008-2009 and the subsequent crisis in the Euro Zone had little impact on the exports of Godrej Industries. “Increased export incentives by the government gave a welcome boost to our exports and further incentives would enable us to perform even better. There has been a steady growth in exports year-on-year from 2009-2010 till the current year. An increase of nearly 72 per cent is a testimony to the effort of the team and the high level of quality consciousness of the company,” he said.
Set up by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India in the year 1963 with the objective of promoting exports from India to various countries abroad, CHEMEXCIL recognises commendable and noteworthy export performances. Nadir Godrej joins Adi Godrej and KC Shroff who have been past recipients of CHEMEXCIL lifetime achievement award.
