SIES Institute of Chromatography and Spectroscopy at Nerul, Navi Mumbai will organise one-day seminar cum live demonstration on GC and GCMS on March 4, 2014. The institute boasts of an impressive infrastructure with a one hundred seat capacity air-conditioned auditorium with modern audio-visual facilities and a very modern laboratory with the recent models of Perkin Elmer GC and GC-MS instruments.
The GC-MS is equipped with auto-sampler (AS) and head Space (HS) analyser. The seminar and the demo will be given by some of the most experienced people in the above techniques, instrumentation and applications. The various topics covered will be the application of chromatography and mass spectrometry in areas such as environmental, essential oils and other natural products, pharmaceuticals, forensic s and sports doping, organic chemistry research, etc.
The seminar will be helpful for students who have recently completed their M.Sc. studies or those preparing for their examinations. This will also be very useful for students, who are presently pursuing their Ph. D. programmes or those who have joined any chemical industry in the recent past and who require exposure to these techniques. This course will serve as a first step for the future activities of the institute such as seminars on topic such as LC and LCMS so also the extended workshops on chromatography and mass spectrometry.
