Sinhgad College of Pharmacy, Vadgaon (Bk), Pune is organising All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) sponsored two-weeks faculty development programme. The programme on ‘Research and Practice in Metabolic Disorder: Past, Present and Future’ will be held till July 27, 2013.
AICTE is always encouraging institutes and faculty for the up gradation of knowledge and be at par with current development in the profession and has sponsored this programme under quality improvement schemes.
The programme has been designed to discuss, explore and educate the pharmacy and medical teachers about the limitations of current therapies for the prevention and management of various metabolic disorders and related co-morbidities. It also describes the changing epidemiology of obesity and metabolic syndrome and discusses the role of lifestyle, pharmacological, traditional, surgical, and novel approaches in its management. Therefore, an intensive deliberations and experiences by the academicians, scientists and medical practitioners would inculcate research acumen in the faculties that will be useful for the drug discovery and development.
