Syngene International has appointed Sanjeev Sukumaran as Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) with effect from June 1, 2021. Sukumaran succeeded Vinita Shrivastava.
A company statement informed, “As the CHRO, Sanjeev will be responsible for building on Syngene’s people-centric organisational development priorities including HR strategy development, driving organisational matrices, talent management and sustaining an inclusive work culture. His focus will be on attracting and nurturing diverse scientific talent and promote innovation, excellence and a passion to making a difference in the lives of millions by putting science to work.”

Sukumaran joined Syngene in October 2017 as the Chief of Staff and was responsible for driving key strategic initiatives across the organisation. A Mechanical Engineer with a management degree from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode and an Executive Leadership Program from INSEAD, Singapore, Sukumaran has nearly 25 years of experience in the areas of strategic management, business advisory, and people management. Prior to joining Syngene, he has worked in a range of sectors including healthcare, life sciences, financial services, software and IT, FMCG, big data, supply chain management, e-commerce and shipping.
