Venus Remedies has won the Patent Award in Silver category for the year 2011-12 in the valedictory function of INDIA-ASIA PACIFIC Pharma Business Meet, organised by Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil). The event held in Hyderabad was conferred by Raja Shekhar, IAS, Joint Secretary Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilisers and RP Thakur, DGDC, AP.
Dheeraj Aggarwal, Chief Finance Officer, Venus Remedies after receiving the award at the ceremony said, “Getting such a prestigious award for the second year in a row for our commendable contributions towards research and development, demonstrated by patent grants in 2011-12, is indeed a matter of pride and great honour.”
Venus Remedies has received four patents in this fiscal year with two patents each for Sulbactomax and Vancoplus. These patent grants from Australia and New Zealand would augment company’s business plans in these countries. Aggarwal further said, “These products cater to the growing epidemic of microbial resistance and hence shall be a great serving to the mankind. Till now, we have received more than 80 patents for our various novel research formulations covering 51 countries across the globe.”
The 8th Annual Meet of Pharmexcil, organised by Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council which was set up by Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt of India witnessed the presence of various successful companies that have come together to share and recognise their achievements of securing patents in the pharma sector in 2011-12.
Venus Remedies has established its presence across the world through a portfolio of more than 75 injectables and 13 patent protected novel research products catering to the critical care segment and super specialty segments. The company has special focus towards the growing epidemic of Antimicrobial Resistance and Oncology. Besides this, the company has 51 product registrations in the regulated markets with 108 CTDs filed for seven products and 400+ market authorisations in the emerging countries.
Recently, the company has received the Manufacturing Leadership Award 2012 for its manufacturing and operational excellence. Besides this, Venus won BioSpectrum Product of the year 2012 for its once-a-day-painkiller ‘ACHNIL’ and Emerging Company of the Year Award 2011.
