Zena Health plans to strengthen its reach and democratise healthcare in Eastern India
Zeno Health, omni channel platform for quality and affordable generic medicines has announced its acquisition of Kolkata-based startup Tablt Pharmacy. As part of its expansion plans, Zeno Health along with Tablt will be strengthening its reach in the states of West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar and Jharkhand.
Tablt, a Bharat-focused online pharmacy startup, has been operating in tier 2 to tier 6 geographies in Eastern India. Renowned for its unique and cost-effective distribution model, Tablt was making healthcare more accessible in both urban and rural areas. It operates through nearly 300 franchises across the Eastern Indian states of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha and has served more than 2 lakh consumers so far. Tablt successfully championed a low-cost distribution model, providing vital healthcare products to underserved regions. Since its vision was in alignment with Zeno Health, the merger of the two companies is considered the right synergy by both startups.
Girish Agarwal, Co-founder, Zeno Health, echoed this sentiment, emphasising on the synergy between the two companies. “Zeno Health is on a mission to democratise healthcare across India and recently raised $25 million in a Series C fund round. As we aim to reach and serve more than 1 crore consumers every month, we are also aspiring to reduce their healthcare expenditures by 50 per cent. Thus, our merger with Tablt and their excellent team will expedite our journey to rural and semi-urban areas, addressing the immense need for generic medicines. We take pride in our association with them and with their help, we believe our aligned visions will also come true in the Eastern regions of India.”
Siddharth Gadia, CEO & Co-founder, Zeno Health, enthusiastically welcomed the acquisition, stating, “We confidently join forces with Tablt Pharmacy, a company that has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to reshaping the healthcare landscape. Their vision mirrors our own principles, and we look forward to contributing to their journey towards making quality healthcare accessible across India.”
Anish Agarwal, CEO & Co-founder of Tablt Pharmacy, expressed enthusiasm about the merger, stating, “This marks a pivotal moment in the healthcare industry. By combining Tablt’s innovative distribution capabilities with Zeno Health’s commitment to affordability, we are poised to transform how individuals access and afford essential medications.”
