analytica Anacon India 2013 to showcase innovative and high quality analytical equipment

Instruments Association (IAIA) analytica Anacon India 2013, the seventh international trade fair and conference for laboratory technology, analysis, biotechnology and diagnostics, will be conducted from November 12-14, 2013 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, India. The biennial event is a spin-off exhibition of the world’s leading trade fair analytica in Munich and was first conducted in the year 2003. The event is jointly organised by Messe München International (MMI) and Indian Analytical Instruments Association (IAIA).

analytica Anacon India will have visitors from various domains like, pharmaceutical, chemical and petrochemical, health care, food, electrical engineering and electronics, medical laboratory, medicine, universities, research institutes and more. With the attendance of major international and domestic leaders in the sector of analytical instruments, the event promises to showcase innovative and high quality equipment. Innovation and scientific research is essential for economic development and growth of any nation.

Technical sessions being organised by IAIA, parallel to the exhibition will be attended by users of analytical instruments from various segments of the industry such as pharma, food and environmental, etc. and research and academic institutions. The theme of the conference of analytica Anacon India this year is ‘Research and Regulations: Challenges for the Food, Life Science and Pharmaceutical Industries.’

The presentations in the conference will touch upon topics like the highlights from the analysis, chromatography and biotechnology/life-sciences sectors and cover a wide range of information. The conference-symposium will focus on the regulatory and patenting issues, standards and safety, drug discovery and biosimilars. A special session by Dr HC A Kettrup, (Technical University Munich, Dept of Ecological Chemistry and Environment) would be on quality control within the food and pharmaceutical industry, environmental analysis and drugs and metabolites.

Some of the key companies exhibiting this year at analytica Anacon India are Waters India, Agilient Technologies, Bruker AXS Analytical Instruments, Metrohm India, GCE India, SV Scientific, TA Instruments, LCGC Chrom Consumables, Labcon, Marsap, Contech Instruments, Borosil, Inkarp Instruments, Eppendorf, Phenomenex India, Vishva Protech, Genedirex, Skytech Systems, Medispec Instruments, Merck Millipore. Also, the event will have international pavilions from Germany, China, Japan.

KV Venugopalan, President, IAIA said, “The Indian analytical instrument market including consumables and spares is estimated at around $1 billion with a growth rate of above 10 per cent. This along with the rising demand and developments in food safety and pharma production will help the industry to grow at a steady pace. There is high dependence on import of technologies for research and at times they are not easily available for various commercial or legal reasons. The time has come to focus on developing cutting edge technologies and instruments in India that will give us advantage in the coming decades.”

“The last edition of analytica Anacon India had experienced 182 exhibitors from 18 countries with 42 per cent participation from international exhibitors. This year the event is expected to witness a significant increase in the number of visitors and exhibitors from the domestic as well as the International markets. Besides, product exhibits, a series of conferences addressed by domain experts will take place parallel to the exhibition. The event promises to be an ideal platform to generate new momentum for research, business and technology,” said Bhupinder Singh, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, MMI India.
