Promoted by Enerzal – Balanced Energy and Electrolyte Drink, a FDC Ltd brand, The Enerzal Doctors’ Badminton Championship is a national badminton tournament exclusively for MCI registered doctors

Enerzal, India’s leading balanced Energy and electrolyte drink has launched India’s biggest doctors’ badminton championship. The Enerzal Doctors’ Badminton Championship will be held in 60 cities across the country and will see participation from around 10,000 doctors. The formats within the tournament will be Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles, and only MCI registered doctors are eligible to participate in the tournament. The prize money fund for the championship is INR 8 Lacs.

The Championship’s Mumbai leg will be held from the May 25 to May 27, at the iconic Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana Club. The championship will feature City Legs followed by zonals and finally the national finals.

Speaking about the initiative, Ameya Chandavarkar, Executive Director FDC says, “We at Enerzal believe that a healthier India is a stronger and more productive India, and the best way to inculcate a culture of health and fitness is through sport. As a brand we have been ever-present in India’s sporting tapestry with partnerships with leading sport teams and athletes. However, we realised that today our own healthcare providers are becoming increasingly stressed and unfit due to a lack of recreational activities and opportunities to play sport. We launched the Enerzal Doctors’ Badminton Championships to raise awareness amongst doctors and provide a platform for them to play sport. And as doctors serve as role models to many, they will effectively lead by example by playing badminton and sharing stories of their sporting adventures with their families, friends and patients.”

Anang Mohan Basu, Marketing Manager Enerzal, added “This is a one of a kind initiative that we will be taking across India. For the inaugural edition we have planned 60 cities that the tournament will be conducted in, followed by Zonals and then the National Finals. We expect around 10,000 MCI registered doctors to participate in this Championship making it the largest in the country.”

Rajiv Soni, Badminton chairman, JVPG, whose venue will be hosting the Mumbai leg commented on the initiative “We at JVPG are proud to be associated with such a large and prestigious event. We are looking forward to providing all the registered participants with world class facilities and will ensure that they all will have an incredibly wonderful and professional experience.”
