The unit is likely to come up in proposed ‘Pharma City’
US-based Gilead Sciences, a research-based company, has evinced interest in setting up an unit in the proposed ‘Pharma City’ near Hyderabad without specifying the line of activity.
According to a press release issued by the Telangana government, Senior Director, South East Asia and Pacific, Aaron Brinkworth and Director, Government Affairs – Asia, Claudio Lilienfeld of Gilead Sciences met Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao recently in camp office along with their team.
“Gilead seeks to improve the care of millions of patients living with life-threatening diseases around the world. It has its presence in Telangana also. The company expressed its intention to participate in the healthcare initiatives of state government and desires to establish its unit in the proposed pharma city near Hyderabad,” it said.
Responding to the team’s request, the CM explained about the Single Window Industrial Policy of the state and presented them with a copy of the policy document, it added.
