Exams will be conducted across 41 cities
National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) will be held from December 5 to 13, 2016. According to a statement issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the examination for postgraduate medical courses for the academic session 2017 (MD, MS, PG diploma courses) will be held in 86 test centres across 41 cities.
The examination will be held as a computer-based test and will consist of 300 multiple choice questions from the MBBS curriculum followed at medical colleges in India duly prescribed as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulation notified by Medical Council of India with prior approval of the MoHFW. As for Master of Dental Surgery course, 240 multiple choice questions would be asked from the BDS curriculum followed at dental colleges in India.
The NEET-PG would be a single window entrance examination. No other examination either at state level or institutional level entrance examination conducted by medical colleges or institutions will be valid as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 with effect from 2017 admission session.
