The Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Packaging Congress 2021 (PHARMAP 2021) was recently hosted on the BGS online platform. Held on June 28-29, 2021, it aimed to connect the whole pharma value chain, with a focus on the manufacturing and packaging sides of the industry.

The two-day event addressed various cutting edge topics including industry development, continuous manufacturing, and intelligent packaging. More than 45 case studies were presented by experts of the pharma industry. The presentations covered diverse topics such as pharmaceutical innovations, industrial post-COVID-19 trends, and technologies for future development and were held during the Congress’ plenary sessions. Discussions about anti-counterfeiting, blockchain technologies, and data protection were also part of the closing sessions. The other sessions of the business program were divided into two streams dedicated to packaging and manufacturing:

  • Manufacturing topics included batch and continuous manufacturing, technology equipment, AI and digital development, outsourcing and external partnerships possibilities. Leading pharma companies such as Bayer AG, Biocon, Takeda, Janssen, Abbott, Aspen Technology, Novartis Oncology and other market majors were part of the discussions.
  • Sessions on packaging saw participation from organisations like Epson, Mankind Pharmaceutical, World Packaging Organisation, Ferrer, Omron Electronics and others. Topics like key trends and new standards, cutting-edge sustainable solutions, smart pharma packaging technologies, personalised packaging, and new labelling approaches were addressed.

More than 250 participants from Europe and other regions were networking on the BGS Online platform showing their solutions to potential partners. CIOs and directors of pharma companies and laboratories, research and manufacturing directors, clinicians, IT project managers, heads from manufacturing and packaging pharma technology gathered to present their cases, share solutions and network on one platform during the Congress.

“The PHARMAP’s motto is ‘navigate pharmaceutical world’, as the reflection of our goal to connect the global industry experts. The key dots on the map are connected with the strong strings, so our Congress serves as a platform to make connections between the key industry players”, said Project Director Natalya Kuznetsova.

Pharmaceutical Manufacturing & Packaging Congress provides a great networking platform for decision-makers from the pharma industry. It is a place for experts to share their cases, for exhibitors to showcase their solutions, and for industry representatives to discuss pharmacology trends at the same venue.
