This year’s Alzheimer’s Day theme is ‘Go Purple with a Purpose
Quintiles, in an effort to highlight the challenges of Alzheimer’s Disease, has come up with a slew of initiatives to raise awareness about the disease. Starting on 9/14, through the official recognition of World Alzheimer’s Day on Monday, September 21, Quintiles’ Durham, NC and UK headquarters buildings will be bathed in purple light, a nod to this year’s World Alzheimer’s Day theme, ‘Go Purple with a Purpose.’ Since 2010, Quintiles has provided clinical services for approximately 100 Alzheimer’s disease studies, involving more than 18,000 patients across 56 countries.
Quintiles’ website, ClinicalResearch.com provides a wealth of information on Alzheimer’s such as background on the condition, links to current news stories, database of current clinical trials (Alzheimer’s and all other trials) and all current clinical trials (not just Quintiles-managed trials).
Quintiles employees are also being encouraged to get in on the action by wearing purple on the day, to support raising awareness for this debilitating disease.
Alzheimer’s blog will give an overview of the toll the disease takes along with a look at the progress that is being made from Quintiles’ Dr Lynne Hughes, Head, Quintiles’ Neurology Center of Excellence.
Quintiles’ podcast will share a conversation on Alzheimer’s with Dr Lynne Hughes, Head, Neurology Center of Excellence, Quintiles.
The podcast, blog, infographics and photos will all be available on Quintiles’ social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook, etc.
