Sciformix Corporation to support local charities in India and Philippines on Social Impact Initiative day
Hundreds of employees volunteer their time to contribute back to local communities
Sciformix Corporation, a world leading Scientific Process Organisation (SPO), has announced its second Social Impact Initiative (SII) day will take place on 7 May, 2014. The day, initiated by Manish Vinayak Soman, President and CEO, is held annually on the Company’s founding day. Involving over 500 Sciformix employees, SII day will see Sciformix staff leaving their offices to volunteer their time to local charities in Pune and Mumbai, India and Manila, The Philippines.
Working at the grassroots within the local communities in India and The Philippines, employees will set-up medical camps, stage health awareness presentations and spend time with the elderly, orphans and those less fortunate than themselves.
This year’s SII will support a total of 24 local charities. Sciformix employees will spend time with charities such as Tunga Gaon Charitable Trust, Mumbai, where qualified medical practitioner employees will dispense essential but often life saving medicines from the medical camp. In Pune, Sciformix teams will support Akanksha, a school for underprivileged children. Further visits will be undertaken in Manila, The Philippines, by Sciformix teams visiting Tahanan Ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home and Kanlungan Ni Maria Home for the Aged. Additional teams will spend time visiting people of all ages from underprivileged children to senior ladies and victims of illness across various charities including Ekalavya Bal Shikshan & Arogya Nyasa, St John’s Home, and Kinara Vridha and Matimanda Seva Trust.
After the success of the inaugural SII day, Manish Vinayak Soman, President and CEO of Sciformix, explains that this years SII day will be even bigger; “Last year’s SII was a success and we want to make an even bigger impact in 2014. Volunteering is one of the ways in which we feel we can give something back to our local communities and respond to the needs of our communities. We have to remember that success is defined not only by our business achievements, but also how well we serve our communities and enrich our ecosystem and together, our employees can experience the happiness of giving through our second SII day.”
Sciformix, a former winner of Frost & Sullivan’s Life Science Pharmaceutical Knowledge Process Outsourcing Entrepreneurial Company of the Year award, has experienced significant growth and is looking to give back to local communities in which they work. “While our employees are succeeding in their chosen area of expertise it is equally important for us, as an individual and as an organisation to grow and succeed from within. When hundreds of people decide to make a difference, anything is possible”, says Soman.
