VAV Life Sciences receives COSMOS approval from Ecocert for cosmetics ingredients
The COSMOS approval will allow VAV’s natural cosmetics ingredients to be marketed and commercialised worldwide
VAV Life Sciences has received COSMOS approval, an international labelling standard, to produce and supply lecithin and phospholipid ingredients globally. The COSMOS approval will allow VAV’s natural cosmetics ingredients to be marketed and commercialised worldwide. The international approval was granted following VAV’s successful completion of stringent documentation audit processes for its ingredients by Ecocert, said VAV Life Sciences in a statement.
Speaking of the development, Arun Kedia, Managing Director, VAV Life Sciences, said in the statement, “…… The growing demand for green chemistry and sustainable products indicates that consumers are aware of the importance of clean labels. Customers are looking for third-party certification, such as the COSMOS standards, as an assurance that the products contain genuine natural ingredients used in skin and beauty care. We are making sure that all our products conform to global sustainability standards.”
According to the statement, COSMOS is an international non-profit organisation, and is responsible for setting standards for organic and/or natural ingredients used in the cosmetic industry. The standards are developed by BDIH (Germany), COSMEBIO and ECOCERT (France), ICEA (Italy) and SOIL ASSOCIATION (the UK) at European and international levels.
